    Ethereum + Avalanche = Athereum

    Posted: 28 Sep 2020 04:00 PM PDT

AVA Labs has recently released Avalanche [AVAX] successfully and now plans to release "Athereum", which will transfer the Ethereum ecosystem to Avalanche consensus, or explained by Athereum Developers:

Athereum is 100% Ethereum, running on Avalanche technology. It's the same Ethereum you fell in love with. Same keys. Same EVM. Same tooling.

The only new thing is the backend consensus engine. Instead of longest chain proof-of-work, Athereum uses a staking-based linear chain version of the Avalanche consensus protocol.

It is currently not finalized how it will be released but at least Ethereum holders will receive 1:1 Athereum. It is still to be discussed if ERC-20 tokens will also be included and if big whales will receive a cap when airdropping ATH.

Combining Ethereum and Avalanche consensus will enable all applications running on Ethereum currently to have full speed powered by Avalanche consensus. Especially interesting for DeFi applications where low tx fees and fast tx are necessary.

It will be an interesting experiment!

How to track status changes in Ethereum

    Posted: 28 Sep 2020 03:58 AM PDT

    Hello,

Quite new in ethereum and definitely new in the solidity programming....

I need to develop a Dapp (sort of supply chsin dapp) that will allow my user to track location (GPS from mobile) at certainly steps...

Let me give you a sample:

    • step 1: fabrication: user will scan a qr code of the product andcthd GPS location will ge stored in ethereum (i think more than the location, it will store the hash of the location details in online database)

    • step 2: warehouse: the user will scan the qr code and a new location will need to be register in etgereum

-step 3: sale: the sale guy will scan qr and the product journey will be updated with new location...

The purpose if this, is ultimately to het a end user to check where thd "product had been" during the production/distribution time...

I know that ethereum is definitely capable to do what I need, but as newbie I don't know where to start....

What I need to do in thd offlibe DB? How will I structure the famous "smart contract"?

    Thank you all

Ethereum 2.0 question: Will it take 4-6 years to fully implement Eth 2.0? is it further away or closer?

    Source: https://youtu.be/izzMuxD4OAM?t=1057

I was listening to this talk by Vitalik while I was on my daily metro commute home. This graphic oversimplifies the state that we are in right now. If there's anyone that could offer more insight that would be great...

I put 4-6 years in the title of this thread because that's how long we have waited from the beginning of ether until now to see ether 2.0 come online. I hold ether, I am not a skeptic, I would just like an answer that could be simplified for the non-technical people.
