Wondering about eth2 investing Posted: 05 Aug 2020 01:15 PM PDT Hey Everyone! I was wondering how Eth2 works with my current coinbase investment? Does it automatically become eth2? I read some posts and articles about it like its an update for it but not entirely sure how this affects my investment into eth at the moment. I suppose I just want to make sure I dont have to do anything else just in case. Thanks in advance! [link] [comments]

Posted: 05 Aug 2020 08:14 AM PDT Mainly 1. Will I need to move my 32 ETH to a centralized address to stake? 2. How does staking to earn rewards work? My understanding is I just need to download a validator to my laptop and leave it on, or join a staking pool? Thanks! [link] [comments]

Posted: 05 Aug 2020 03:36 PM PDT CREDIT: u/jconn93 commented this on r/ethstaker. With all the hype about the Eth2 Launch Pad for Medalla testnet many of us find ourselves in uncharted waters as we set up new nodes we're unfamiliar with. https://medalla.launchpad.ethereum.org/ uses the Goerli testnet. On the off-chance you've accidentally sent 32 real ETH to the deposit contract while following tutorials, theres a contract where you can get your mainnet ETH back. CONTRACT: https://etherscan.io/address/0x07b39F4fDE4A38bACe212b546dAc87C58DfE3fDC NOTE: I'm not here to misguide, scam, or promote anything. I'm still learning, so it'll take me a while before I'm 100% confident in this contract. If anyone knows of a better/safer solution to retrieving mainnet eth, please let me know and I'll edit (or delete) this post. [link] [comments]
Posted: 05 Aug 2020 06:34 AM PDT I just want to confirm, ethereumgold .io is a scam right? It is just a musical chairs game until the music stops? Edit: I understand the concept of a smart contract, but something is off for me, nothing is that simple. [link] [comments]

How can I deposit ETH to someone without interaction? Posted: 04 Aug 2020 09:16 PM PDT The title sucks - I know, so let me explain what I'm trying to do... I have two nieces that are graduating and going off to college. I want to get them both something that would be useful for them in the future but not a cheesy graduation gift like they're probably going to get. I want to do two things: 1.) Buy them both a Ledger Nano S and have them set it up and understand it for themselves 2.) Once they've set up their Ledger Nano S I somehow want them to have funds, specifically, I'd like to send them a little ETH. How can I do that without them asking for it? Is it possible to set up some sort of Smart Contract or a Wallet so that when they scan it, they're deposited funds? If so, how could I do that securely so that only the two of them could receive it? I don't want to pre-load the Ledger Nano S because I want them to practice good habits, so they should set up it up and know how the seed phrase works, etc. Any thoughts on how I could achieve this? Any/All help is greatly appreciated. [link] [comments]
